Mission: To provide emotional, spiritual, and physical support by partnering “with” the individual as they walk their journey in life; aiming to be the light in the darkness for the individual and their family as they live life with dementia, chronic illness, or end-of-life care.

Vision: To build communities that are the light in the darkness by providing love, patience, kindness, goodness and gentleness for individuals and their families walking through grief and loss. To ensure the individuals communities create environments that support and include the individual and caregiver.

Values as a caregiver:

· Compassionate: We as humans need more than medical care; we need emotional, physical and spiritual support from compassionate caregivers.

· Valuing: Everyone should be treated with reverence and awe, no matter their mental or physical capabilities; everyone has a value and history.

· Present: To be a good caregiver, we must be physically present with the individual and experience their life by putting our personal goals and agendas to the side.

· Attentive: Caregivers should be alert, attentive listeners, and pay attention to detail; listening and observing allows us to better understand the needs of the individual.

· Delight: We should offer and look for the moments of delight and share that joy with the individual.

· Community Oriented: Every individual has a story that is part of the larger narrative of community; as the community, when one suffers, we all suffer.
